STUDIO BLOG: Day 2, My Own Way!

So yesterday went really well.  As I told you in my previous post, we were working on Hands Up, and it sounds awesome.  Jim (Ebert, not Jimmy, our singer) and Scott are so easy to work with, and, as I also said yesterday, they are totally Shaq and Kobe in the studio.  I’m officially out of basketball analogies.
Today we’re working on a new song (well, new to you, the fans…we’ve played it about 400x in the last wk) called My Own Way.  As I’m writing this, Brian is recording his bass tracks.  Working in the studio is like having every day be Xmas Eve…actually, I’d say that’s a good assessment of how every day in a rock n roll band feels.  You wait in the car to get to the studio or the show. Then you wait all day to play. In the studio, you then proceed to wait the rest of the day for the song and the vox and everything to come together, but it’s so worth it.  When I was a kid I totally liked Xmas Eve more than Xmas Day, so I guess I was cut out to be a rockstar rocker rock god in a band (this is where I would put an emoticon, but I would only earn the ridicule of my bandmates).
Anyhoo, I’ve gotta go warm up take a shot of some booze with dead lizards in it.  Tight.
