STUDIO BLOG: Day 3 is done

Let me give you an idea of a typical in-sudio exchange.

Me: Man, my jeans are so tight…every time I bend over I think my phone’s ringing

Lane: Why?

Me: Like the pocket rubs the phone and it’s like it’s vibrating

Scott: It’s your [part of male anatomy resembling Krang from TMNT] calling your [butt]. “You’re too close. Move away!”

Sometimes we record awesome tracks, too.  Like today, for example, we are recording an as-yet unreleased song called “Take Me.” As you might be able to guess from the title, it is our slow jam.  We were planning to make it sound sort-of like H-Town’s magnum opus “Knockin’ Da Boots,” complete with Lane doing the smooth bass-voice talking in the breakdown (”all you ladies go get your towels, knowatI’msayin?”), but luckily Ebert convinced us to do it as a rock song, and it sounds totally rad.

I can’t believe we’re more than halfway done with the recording phase of releasing this EP.  Stay tuned for more updates and stuff.  I think Lane might post some of his motion picture-quality footage of yesterday’s session soon, so keep an eye out for that. Sweet.
