Ok, so by “merch” we mean T-shirts, but still, we’re really stoked about them. Our very own Jimmy Fanale has designed two killer tees: one for the ladies and one that’s “unisex.” So you can buy one for yourself and one for that cute girl/boy you convinced to come to the show with you. Seriously, which is gonna get you further, a $10 drink or an awesome shirt from his/her new fave band?** The Ts made their debut @ our recent show w/ Shinedown @ 9:30 Club (we never get tired of mentioning that), and you can pick one up when you come see us @ Jammin Java with Hotspur. They’ll also be available for purchase online soon, so stay tuned for info on that, but it’s way more fun to buy a shirt at a show anyway…we’re just saying…

So as many of you may or may not already know, we were selected as one of four finalists to compete for the chance to open for Shinedown @ 9:30 Club on Dec. 2nd. The winner is to be determined in an all-out battle of the bands (possibly to the death…but most likely not) @ Midtown Loft in DC THIS THURSDAY 11/12 @ 730pm. Do. Not. Miss. This. Show. We’re competing against 3 great local acts, so regardless of who wins (us), it’s going to be a night of great music, and it’s FREE FREE FREE. The show is hosted by On Tap Magazine and Miller Lite, so there’ll be killer beer specials all night. They’ll be taking donations for Operation Homefront, which benefits American Soldiers (Miller Lite is donating $200k to the cause and is throwing the party at 9:30 to celebrate).
If that’s not enough to get you out…if we win, we get free tickets to the show. It’s an “invite only” show, so chances of getting a ticket are slim. We’ll be giving out tickets to the first 20 Citizen* fans who come to Thursday’s battle. Come find one of us and we’ll get your info, etc so you can get in. REMEMBER: we only get free tix if we WIN, so you’ll have to cheer for us like you’ve never cheered before.

The day is finally here! Citizen* has received the final masters of their debut EP This Is Citizen, and the songs are available for your listening pleasure RIGHT HERE! Just launch the media player on the top right of our site and turn those speakers up!
Citizen has announced their first show! The band is absolutely pumped to get back on that stage. The show will be at Auld Shebeen in Fairfax VA on August 26th. You can view the shows page for more information. With a little luck, the new EP (which finished up tracking last week!) will be available that night, so make sure you pick up your very own copy! Citizen* is currently in pre-production, and will be hitting the studio in late June to begin work on tracks for their debut EP. The record will be the first collaborative project for producer Jim Ebert and engineer Scott Spelbring, and the band is excited to have them both on board. Ebert has produced albums for one of the group’s favorite artists, Butch Walker, and worked with a ton of other well-known acts, including current Last Band Standing title-holders Niki Barr Band. Spelbring’s Dragonfly East has been the setting for recordings by countless local and regional acts including Cinder Road and Nate Ihara (Blackjacks/Welbilt). Stay tuned for updates from the studio and NEW MUSIC in the coming weeks.
