Social Media Manager

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a freelance Social Media Manager, who is able to effectively manage the following:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of social spaces and ensure brand consistency through tone, voice and brand terminology across social channels, conversations, and content for Citizen and client brands
  • Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between customers and the company, and ensure a positive customer service experience in social channels, trafficking any concerns through the appropriate channels to resolve questions and issues
  • Facilitate scaling brand and company awareness through various social media channels
  • Work with clients to create and implement social media strategies
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers through popular social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok
  • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as platform-native analytics reporting, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprinklr, Google Analytics and others
  • Demonstrate ability to convert performance data into actionable plans
  • Oversee the creating and implementation of the monthly editorial calendar which includes monthly objectives and initiatives


  • 3-5 years of social media management experience
  • Exceptional communications skills; particularly in writing
  • Discerning aesthetic and ability to understand and project a brand’s language through writing, images, and video
  • Endless curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding what makes communities thrive, and revealing the magic in our clients’ businesses
  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts throughout various forms of outreach
  • Bachelor's degree OR relevant experience in social media marketing, journalism, public relations or related field
